Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
In short: we use essential cookies to keep you signed in and secure, and browser storage to remember your preferences. We don't use advertising cookies, third-party analytics, or tracking pixels. The only optional cookies come from embedded Vimeo video players, and they run only if you choose "Accept all."
2. Essential cookies and storage
These are needed for the Service to work, so they can't be turned off in our settings:
- Sign-in cookies (set by our authentication provider, Supabase) keep you logged in and protect your session.
- Your cookie choice is saved in your browser so we don't ask again on every page.
- Checkout cookies are set by Stripe on its payment pages for security and fraud prevention.
3. Preference storage
We store some settings in your browser so the app remembers how you like to study, such as your daily flashcard goal and progress, list or grid views, display settings, and recent searches. This information stays on your device and is not used to track you. Clearing your browser data resets it.
4. Optional cookies
Lessons and the media hub embed videos from Vimeo. If you choose "Accept all," Vimeo's player may set its own cookies to measure playback and remember player settings. If you choose "Essential only," haven't chosen yet, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we load Vimeo in do-not-track mode and it does not set those cookies. Videos play either way.
We do not currently use any other optional cookies. If we add any, such as analytics, we will update this policy first, and they will run only with your consent.
5. Third-party content
When you play video or audio, or view a video thumbnail, your browser connects to the service that hosts it (Vimeo, Vumbnail for thumbnails, or Captivate for podcast audio). Those services receive your IP address and browser details, as any website you load content from would. Their own privacy policies apply.
6. Change your choice
You can change your choice here at any time. If you're signed in, you can also change it in Settings → Privacy & security, and we save it to your account.
Your current choice on this device: Not chosen yet (essential only)
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and stop parts of the Service from working.
7. Global Privacy Control
We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to turn off optional cookies. When we detect it, optional cookies stay off even if you previously chose "Accept all."
8. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes here and update the date above before they take effect.
