Accessibility Statement
Last updated: October 24, 2026
Every nurse anesthesia student should be able to study with Atomic Anesthesia. If something gets in your way, email hello@atomicanesthesia.com with the subject "Accessibility" and we will help you get the content another way while we fix it.
1. Our commitment
Atomic Anesthesia is committed to making our website and learning platform usable by people with disabilities, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control, captions, or other assistive technology. We treat accessibility as part of building every feature, not a one-time project.
2. The standard we work to
Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 (opens in a new tab) at Level AA. These guidelines make content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with a wide range of disabilities. The platform does not yet fully conform, and Section 4 lists the gaps we know about.
3. What we do
- Use semantic HTML with landmarks, a logical heading structure, and a "Skip to main content" link
- Label form fields and buttons, and associate help and error text with the fields they describe
- Support keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators
- Allow browser zoom and text resizing, and lay pages out to work on small screens
- Design for readable contrast in our dark interface and avoid using color alone to convey meaning
- Size buttons and controls for touch, generally at least 44 by 44 pixels
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images in lessons and the interface
- Review new features for accessibility before release, and fix reported issues as a priority
4. Known limitations
We are working on these. In the meantime, contact us and we will provide an alternative.
- Video and audio: some videos may not yet have accurate captions, and some audio lessons and podcast episodes may not have transcripts.
- Downloadable worksheets and PDFs: some files may not be fully tagged for screen readers.
- Diagrams and charts: some complex images and the activity heatmap may not have a complete text description.
- Voice Preceptor: this feature is a spoken conversation and requires a microphone and speech. Lessons, the question bank, and flashcards cover the same material in text.
- Third-party content: embedded players such as Vimeo and Stripe's checkout pages are controlled by those companies.
- Member content: forum posts, messages, and uploads from other members may not follow accessibility best practices.
5. Compatibility
Atomic Anesthesia is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop and mobile, and with common assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, and TalkBack. It is not designed for older browsers.
6. Feedback and help
Email hello@atomicanesthesia.com with the subject "Accessibility." It helps to include:
- The page address (URL) or the feature you were using
- What happened and what you expected
- The browser and any assistive technology you use
- How you'd like us to contact you
We aim to reply within 5 business days. If you need a lesson, worksheet, or other content in an accessible format, tell us which one and we will work with you to provide it. Accommodations are available at no extra cost.
7. If you're not satisfied
We encourage you to contact us first so we can fix the problem. You also have the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division at civilrights.justice.gov (opens in a new tab).
8. Ongoing review
We review this statement whenever we make significant changes to the platform and at least once a year.
